Those def tank inlets are kinda small though, but when it's that cold it fits!

 

I don’t know. If it’s that cold it might freeze before it gets there.

 

You would think that the def systems on trucks could be automatically shut off by the computer below a certain temp. I believe it's disabled upon start-up anyway. At least it is on our excavator that uses def.

 

I learned my lesson back in 2013 - MN, WI, IL, and IN all froze up. Since then, from November to March if I fuel, I top up the DEF. Then again, I spend most of my time in WI, MN, IA, IL, and IN, so I expect the DEF pumps to not work.

 

We are moving to Motive (formally Keep Trucking) and the camera will speak to you when you exceed the company speed limit, follow to closely or drive through a stop sign or use your phone. We are also given coaching suggestions and like you have a safety score. Fortunately if there is no event, the camera remains quiet and the driver facing camera remains off. So far the only issue I have with how we have set up the system is the speed tolerance, with the eco cruise engaged on the trucks we can trip the max allowed limit when you are pushing say 5 over on cruise.

The system is so much easier to use than PeopleNet and has been much more stable, and man so much easier to arrive and depart a shipper now. Like you we will eventually go away from Transflo and use our tablets too…

 

we were full speed ahead with Motive, even had some trucks in the testing phase. Then Wylie came into the picture. So far samsara and motive seem pretty similar.

my old truck would ding at me on the peoplenet when I went over 74, our arbitrarily set company speed limit. So far this camera has not said anything about it but I don’t think there’s any hills big enough between the yard and my house to find out.

with as easy as that truck is to tie down I can’t believe we had one damaged. That’s very frustrating to hear.
