Spoke to my dispatcher yesterday after getting empty in Brunswick. Said they didn't have anything to get me closer to home, so he said just deadhead home. Told him I would be ready to roll back out on Friday after loading my stuff in the truck. He asked, "it we can't find anything for you on Friday, is it gonna be a problem if you have to wait until Monday?" Told him, if that's what happens, I am fine with it, I am on the guaranteed daily pay program, if I make myself available 2 days in advance (on Weds I set my PTA for Friday), then have to sit there Fri, Sat, Sun, I get 3 days pay sitting at home...he said good point, he will let me know. I would rather run, the more I run before winter, the better prepared I will be when that nasty 4-letter word starts flying (and by that I mean snow), so rolling out is my choice, but if I have to sit, so be it.

I never thought I would need flame retardant coveralls in this job. I would have brought one of two pair I had from Oil Field driving. Ended up having to buy another. Got lucky and got a lightweight pair. Much nicer when hot out.

Certainly appears they have lot’s of common sense and good head on their shoulders…working for people like that certainly makes the job much more enjoyable and less stress..too bad many other companies can’t/won’t figure that out.

Had one of your trucks pass me this morning on 80 EB in PA. It was sporting a “Pet On Board” decal so I’m assuming it wasn’t you.

I couldn’t help but notice the similarity in color to the Schaeffer tractors…:D

    Good luck my friend!

SSB any oversized loads require pilots there or those loads open up after a probationary period?

Weather or not a overdimensional load requires a pilot car depends on the load dimensions and the states that it will be going through what they require…
