An old man's career goes flat, Snackbar moves to open deck

Made it all the way to La Grande, OR only to find out that neither the company nor the broker bothered to tell the consignee that I wasn't gonna be able to deliver today. Fortunately, he will unload me tomorrow...after 15:00. I guess they don't unload early there, so now I am 180 miles away and have to wait until afternoon to deliver. To be the 'glass half full' guy, it could have been worse, I could have to wait until Monday.

 

I'll never learn...

 

After I drop this load today, they have me heading to Arlington to pick up a preloaded Genie load going to OK, GA and 2 stops in NC.

 

I'd do Genie loads full time if they had a dedicated Genie division. Way better than what I have now or elevators. The only issue I might have with this one is the weight. It's loaded on an old steel frame trailer and it's 2 of the bigger scissor lifts and 2 boom lifts. The last load I had like this I had to spread my trailer tandems to make it legal, and just barely legal.

 

I have determined that my location glitch with Samsara is just with my dash unit. When I look at my logs thru the online portal, they are right, but the dash unit is wrong. After a reboot, they're the same, but I have noticed the online portal has the occasional extra 'drive' entry that my dash unit doesn't. I believe it happens when the truck loses cell service and then when it reconnects, the online portal gets a 2nd drive time added.

The one issue with rebooting is I have to re-enter my trip number every time I do it...so every morning I have to put my trip number back in.

 

You are correct about the tandems. It's the same trailer I picked up in Arlington the last time I was here (that was preloaded with Genie equipment then too). However, the one mudflap I put back on after sliding the tandems is now hanging on by 1 bolt, the other one is MIA. AND, the ####ing Sam-crappa won't let me add that trailer number to my logs, when I type it in, no such trailer comes up in suggested trailers, and I tried it upper case and lower case....I am one BP point from relieving some pent up frustration by putting my fist thru the #### thing and telling Daseke where they can shove their junk system. Daseke should write a book, "101 ways to ruin a good company".
