    Can't complain about these Genie loads. Hattiesburg had 2 machines, 1 drive off, one lift off, 25 minutes from the time I pulled in until I was pulling out of their gate. Biloxi, 1 lift off machine, 15 minutes in to out. I wish we had a dedicated Genie division, I would knock people down to get in line to be on it.

    When will I learn. Busted my butt to get unloaded ahead of schedule. Kept my dispatcher up to speed of my PTA, but here I sit waiting for them to find a load...again. 7 days since I was dispatched on the Genie load, and they're still looking for a load. I have bad news for them, I get moving tomorrow, one way or the other. I am 400 miles from home, if they don't get me loaded tomorrow, then expect me to sit here that close to home all weekend, they're horribly mistaken. I have even given them the option of staying out a little longer so they can run me west then back home in order to give them more options for a load. Out west, I am usually on a load right away. Hell, even when I was in Rancho and he had a bunch of drivers coming off of Memorial Day hometime plus the drivers coming on deliveries, I knew what I was doing that afternoon and out of there the next morning. When I was on the daily rate plan, I got moving faster, but now that sitting doesn't hurt their bank account, I sit way more.

    Got a load. Some sort of hydraulic power unit for a pile driver. 60 mile deadhead to pick up at a job site...crane load. It is headed for Virginia Beach for Monday morning. Easy securement and rides good.

    @kylefitzy

    The Canadian border people are on strike. It appears to be another “work to rule” strike.

    Sounds about right.
    Unrelated but last week at the Peace bridge I had a bit of a shouting match with the bridge supervisor. He was a real dick.

    we pull up and park off to the side and have to call the bridge supervisor to pay our $150 crossing fee. I call the number and it goes straight to voicemail. Eventually a young kid comes over to us and takes out money and crossing number that we get straight from the bridge trolls, I mean bridge authority. I thought it was odd that both trucks had the same number but I reviewed the applications and they sent us the same number. The young kid tells us we are good to cross. They didn’t open the wide load gates for us or shut down the center lane of traffic which was flowing against us that day. Both things that are covered in the $150. We were able to squeeze by the gates and force the traffic to the other lane.

    once we get through customs and over to the toll gate, yes we still have to pay the toll on top of the $150 crossing fee, they tell us the PBA numbers can’t be the same. I understand that, that was my ignorance, but I had the email directly from the PBA with the number and crossing instructions. So did the other driver. That jerkoff supervisor refused to even look at the emails, just keep telling us to call our company, who had the same info that I did. He eventually looked up the needed number by our unit numbers, why didn’t he do that from the start? I also gave him an ear full about not opening the gates and closing the center lane, he actually even admitted that was their mistake.

    now I know all this for next time.

    Do you have any issues with the tarp hooks and chains on these new trailers? I didn’t have much issue but someone obviously has with this trailer. About 20% of them are snapped of. IMG_6939.jpeg
    My get home load, two stops in Nebraska. First stop 13 min, second stop 31 min including sending my paperwork in, twice because we still have to do that for some reason. I even drove one of them off because the guy doing it was S L O W.
