When I went to trucking school 10 years ago the ‘plan’ was to get a gas delivery tanker job. Not in the plans now… I run reefer but hauling pharma. Been here 7 years and I would NEVER go back to a regular reefer job… or a regular OTR job… I’m about ready for a local job. When I have to spend 2 nights in a row in the truck I get grumpy…

Made it to the Rancho yard yesterday. It isn't nearly as crowded as I expected. Just 3 of us OTR guys here counting me. 1 of them already has his Monday reload set up, not sure about the other. Since they don't allow my new dispatcher to send me loads in advance, I don't know if I have my next load set up or not.(He claims he isn't allowed to send load info out until they get your current load's paperwork. Not sure why that is a concern with me, my paperwork is always sent via the Sam-crappa from the customer like it's supposed to be, and is Transflowed in by the end of my day after delivering). I will have faith that the boss here will take care of me, he always seems to find decent loads out of here to keep me rolling, and since I will have a fresh clock before delivering, I will have the hours to roll to wherever I am headed, and I can run like I prefer.

I probably shouldn’t even say anything, but I don’t think holding the next dispatch until you send the paperwork in is spd policy. That’s some chicken #### stuff ifit is. I’ve never heard anyone else say that though. You seem to be a #### FC magnet.

I got to use the new gate in Wichita today, Dang that was nice. They should have made the gate 10’ wider but not changed the curbing. That would move the posts back 5’ past the curb. Drivers would at least have to work at hitting the posts.

I have one of the “new” flatbeds. The best part about getting a bunch of new equipment at the same time, all the inspections expire at the same time. Or in my case it expired in March and nobody took care of it. The other guy Im working with on these loads also had a several month expired inspection.

the kicker is he picked his up at a trailer repair shop in okc. My trailer is a year old and has multiple small holes in the deck and at least 8’ of the rubrail has already been replaced. These guys could #### up an anvil with a rubber mallet.

The other driver here already has his next load info, but he has a different dispatcher. I had Kris tell me the same thing the other day about not being allowed to send my next load info until paperwork was scanned in for my current load. For those of us who do it like they want without being reminded, I am not sure why they can't just send us the info and save that rule for those that have to be reminded.

We didn’t used to treat drivers like kindergartners, even the ones that we should have.

Im glad I wasted 3 hours of my time getting this trailer inspected. The last driver left the expired sticker, and the expired paperwork in the document holder. I found the two month old inspection when I went to put the fresh paperwork in the holder.

my bad for not checking all the paperwork I guess, but what ####ing goofball leaves the expired paperwork with the trailer.

Did you log all that time ON duty? I spoke to one of our long term drivers a few weeks ago who said he was written up for not logging getting his truck serviced at a truck stop. Not just a scolding from safety, but actually had to sign a warning form.
