Just had crazy redneck friends...if they saw one under 4' swimming in the river, they'd go in after it.

This is an older clip, and she isn't a native Floridian, but I couldn't stop laughing at how she handled it...and she was pissed it broke her bottle of "the good stuff"

They finally replaced my leaking water pump on my APU. Wrote it up numerous times, but they never replaced it, so I gave up asking. I guess when it was down to 1 of the fan shroud bolts left that was bolted to the water pump, they finally realized how much coolant was weeping out of the APU...but they didn't easy-out the 3rd bolt that goes into the top of the engine, so now I have 2 of 3 bolts holding my fan shroud on. Knowing how they fix things at that shop (like putting self tapping screws thru the interior door panel) I am surprised they didn't just cut the remaining bracket off and remove the whole shroud.

They know how to fix things to keep the truck running. It isn’t always pretty or the “right” way, but it is cheap and fast. Years ago the 680’s were having leaks around the cab lights. All the trucks got a smear of silicone on the outside of the lights. It was ugly, but it worked.

I had a Century Class Freightliner at Crete that was repaired like that. Those POS were known for having leaks and it would leak out of the sun visor stud inside the cab right into the fuse box. One mechanic in Columbus decided to reseal every fiberglass seam on the upper part of the cab, but he didn't have Crete red so he used black RTV silicone on my red truck. It looked like #### and lasted about 300 miles because the nimrod didn't clean the area first. My next hometime I got ladder out and found a small hole up by where the cab fairing mounted to the roof and a loose fairing bolt where it mounted on top...and I had red silicone.

I think the guy who works on equipment in Wichita must have gone to the SPD mechanics school of quick repair. The other day when I was there, someone had dropped a new-ish conestoga with a screwed up front door. The door was bowed out in the middle like freight had shifted and hit the door. It was still latched, but really bowed. Instead of taking 4 bolts out of the hinges and taking it into the shop to straighten it, he just started running into it with the shop forklift until it was really dented and bowed. If we pulled the kind of crap on the equipment the shop guys do, we'd be escorted to the bus station.

Time to put on my incognito disguise on Monday. I will be tiptoing thru Fargo on 94 on my way to Ohio instead of my usual trip across 90. Haven't seen ND in quite a while, figured it would be a nice change of scenery to see it without a pending blizzard approaching.

Big time construction going on across the state on 94 here. Be careful around Bismarck, Jamestown, the 326-328MM and coming into West Fargo just east of Mapleton here.
That one by Mapleton is diversion of a river and the way the lanes are set it can flip you if you’re not careful.

With my delivery going to the Cleveland, OH area, I am getting a twisting feeling in my gut because that puts me in a primo area to head to Joliet for an elevator load. Even though I am in a conestoga, I still have no love for elevator loads, especially an Otis load out of Joliet
