That’s… really good actually. Buyout money? Free medical? A position in AL? Most people would kill for that.

This elevator load has been my most challenging load to date. Our OPs manager calls this type load a Janga load. No two pieces are the same shape, the top piece on the front was all the guide channel for the elevator to go up and down, and the wooden frame used to ship them had 2x4's that stuck up above the horizontal parts, which made tarping, and keeping the tarp tight a PITA. Plus I used every piece of scrap carpet and old straps I had as padding because there are so many sharp edges. It took over an hour, and 2 rolls of tape to pad it so it didn't shread my tarps. And being a rookie, I initially underestimated the size of my tarps. As you go front to back the load got shorter, sorta, with the heavy steel beams in the back, right down on the deck stretching almost to the back of the trailer, but only on the driver side. At first I was going to aero tarp the back, and eliminate using the flap...but after I got the back tarp and the middle tarp in place, when I put the front tarp on, it was 5' short of overlapping the middle tarp, so I had to make some major adjustments. After getting it tarped, then making many bungee adjustments in the first 25-30 miles I finally felt comfortable running 70 mph with an acceptable amount of tarp flap. That was until the winds of OK started which broke some of the bungees holding the upper part of my middle tarp in place, which allowed it to slide back, out from under the front tarp. So, in a Love's parking lot, during a windstorm, I had to fix that. It would have been nice if those 2x4's on that guide channel frame wouldn't have been there, I could have just thrown straps over the tarp...but there is no way I could do that because it would have pushed the 2x4's thru the tarp. All in all, it was a learning experience, and I made it safe and sound and will be unloading in Casa Grande this morning...which will be fun, it's supposed to be over 100⁰ today here. Ahhhh, the joys of open deck
