I wouldn’t worry too much about that. I highly doubt you will have 70 mph winds. And flooding is generally constrained to down town.

High Stepper, IH9300SBA and Oxbow Thank this.

I think you're right... they're saying this MIGHT hit Cat 1 level just before it makes landfall in FL and the Peelot right down the street from my delivery is higher than street level, and I have a permanent 15 showers on my Pilot card. I highly doubt they find something to load me out of this area. The only thing I generally load around here with a stepdeck is out of the Boeing facility and they probably have a clause in their contract that says they can't load in the rain. So as long as a tornado doesn't blow me away, I'll camp out here. After all, I'm a Floridian...Huricane schmuricane. :biggrin_25524:

You know how the weather people like to talk these things up so they can feel important. Probably will just be a lot of rain for a day

Better content for the thread if you deadhead 200 miles and dare your travel agent not to find you a load, just saying…stay safe :)

Yeah, that's all it's gonna be is a big rainstorm. They're calling for 6-10 inches at the house for tomorrow and Monday afternoon. Here it's 1-2 per day thru Tuesday night...around the gulf coast that's an afternoon thunderstorm.

    ElmerFudpucker Thanks this.

If I wouldn't have had to wait for a fuel pump before leaving, I would have had my 1st legal 800 mile day

From some idiot standing outside in the rain during a hurricane -

"It's raining and windy here in the hurricane, and is expected to remain rainy and windy for much of the day. I'll report back in 15 minutes, now back to the studio"

It always amazes me how dumb these people are to stand outside in a storm as if we don't believe the reports from the studio.

As for me, sprinkles on the windshield but Charleston is expected to get it worse than where I live in FL. At home, the power is out, but with our wonderful electric co-op, if the sun is shining and someone farts too close to a power pole, it flickers. We have had about 4.5-5" of rain and are expected to get another 3-5". The one river nearest to my house where US-27 crosses over is expected to crest on Friday less than a foot below the bottom of the bridge.(If it touches the bottom of the bridge, they close the road). We've had it worse. It made landfall in Steinhachie as a Cat 1...same town got hit by a Cat 4 a couple years ago. At Cat 1, most of the locals don't even pull their boats out of the water

I saw where one of your local police cars was taken out by a fallen tree, oddly enough while responding to reports of a fallen tree :)

This is the town closest to my house where my wife is the farmers market manager

Hurricane Debby storm damage: Tree destroys police car | firstcoastnews.com

From the picture, it looks like he ran over one, then another fell on him.

Got an update from Mrs. Snackbar. She said we just have some limbs down and a lot of water standing in the yard.
