We already have 90% of our yard clean. The county came out and cut up the remaining trees in the road and pushed them off the side. I am rocking 2 generators right now, my son's boss is letting us use a 3500 which is running our bedroom (with a window a/c) and my small 1800 we keep the refrigerator and freezer along with some led lights and fans.

Make sure you have a few extra rounds, you know, for those uninvited visitors.

Most of my neighbors think I nuts, they don't come around...plus they think my pity is viscous.

Managed to pass my 2yr physical again. Due to the hurricane, the optometrist cancelled my appointment, so I guess it pays to study for your eye test.

Some drivers these days would need crib notes on a urine test.

Congratulations Once when I went for mine I couldn't read the chart, so he asked if I had reading glasses and made me put them on. Passed. ;-)

But different doctors were bizarre, one had me standing on one leg with my eyes closed. I fell over so, after the 2nd failure he shrugged and moved on.

Another was even more hilarious. He stood beside me facing the other way. Then I had to put a finger in the ear nearest to him while he whispered a word. I couldn't hear a thing but it was the end of the day and his friend, another doctor, was sitting in front of me impatient to go for their end of day drink and, realising I was in trouble, he mouthed the word to me which I repeated and eventually passed with both ears. Lesson learned, learn to lip read.

So, I was obviously blind, deaf and unbalanced, but I never banged into anything. :D

Just saw some YouTube videos that are disturbing

One was about the port strike. The lazyarses are pushing for a 70% pay increase. According to the entitled union boss, his intent is to cripple these foreign owned shipping companies because they're earning billions and he wants them to share the wealth. He says that his members worked thru the pandemic to keep these companies moving and they want compensation. Well Mr. Whinyarse, what about all of the truck drivers who did the same thing during the pandemic that are gonna be put out of business because you think what your overpaid crybaby members are being paid isn't enough. I personally hope this expedites the transition to fully automated ports so your members have to work 2 full time real jobs to make what they're making now.

The 2nd video was about the recent announcement that the I-40 closure in the Gorge will last until September of 2025 and I-26 will be closed until December of this year so they can get some temporary remedies in place for 1 lane in each direction until a permanent plan can be decided on. Maybe the construction crews down there need to hire the crews from BC Canada who got the Coq usable in a much shorter time .

And yes, I am more irritable than usual...being without electricity for this long makes me grumpy(er). I use to jokingly threaten to convert to being Amish when technology fails, obviously I would never survive such a transition. I live less than a mile from 2 substantial solar farms and have no electricity.
