It's the entity that represents the ports etc. Basically a union for owners. The ceo clears a million plus, bit It's strange how there aren't news stories about it.

Why would there be? The union for the workers are on strike, not the ports. Based on what has been published, the Longshoreman on strike make way more than what their job deserves as it is, let alone a raise they're asking for. If we had leadership in the swamp with a big pair, he'd give that guy one chance to go back to work or walk him out in leg irons and put him on the 1st transport to Gitmo and classify him as a domestic terrorist and hold him indefinitely, just like they've done to so many suspected terrorists captured after 9/11

It matters because we should be looking at the whole picture. Union leadership is getting paid 'market rate' for the job they're doing. The news stories about what union leadership makes are designed to make the union look like parasites getting rich off of their membership. Meanwhile the port companies spend a lot more on their negotiators.

The head of that union by the way is a thug… He’s been indicted in the past on Rico charges. He’s associated with a mafia group…

Since when is $1m a "market rate" for what they do, and IMHO, union leaders ARE parasites. Modern unions are nothing more than legal organized crime syndicates.

Just read where they lifted the strike until January. Give them time to negotiate a new contract.

When that's what the port companies are paying their guy. The ILA guy "only" makes $800k. You don't send Lionel Hutz up against the Blue Haired Lawyer.

Modern unions are no more a "legal organized crime syndicate" than the owners trade organizations .
