737 door plug blowout...not management, inept labor that didn't reinstall bolts to hold it in after replacing an improperly installed seal, many other door plug bolts on other 737s found to be loose or missing, not management, other inept labor. 737 loose or missing rudder assembly bolts, customers told to inspect before flying, not management, inept labor. Another issue with either the rudder assembly or the elevator assembly causing it to jam, Boeing's fix "apply more pressure to free it up", possible cause, improperly machines parts...not management, skilled labor issue. 777X cracking engine pylon mounts, entire fleet of 777Xs grounded, customers who bought other 777 models told to inspect their pylon mounts for similar issues, not management, possibly improperly engineered. Prior to the door plug blowout, 737 Max pressure bulkhead mounting points improperly drilled....again, not management....labor. 737 production is YEARS behind and customers are threatening to cancel orders and take their business to Airbus. 737 and 777 are built in KS and PNW...

    I agree with @drvrtech77, they don't deserve a raise!!!!

I worked for an air cargo company, when I worked there we contracted out the conversion of 747’s from passenger to cargo, after a delays and poor workmanship we started doing them in house

Last night I realized I screwed up when I left home this time. With the extra time off due to the hurricane, I am intending to stay out until Christmas. The screwup is...I didn't load any of my winter coats or long scivies. So, it looks like I might be spending some of my Love's points on another winter coat. Taking 2 continuous weeks off has got me completely out of sync.

And I find it mind boggling that a guy who constantly complains about the idiocy of his corporate management and how they are ruining a company is so against anyone standing up to management. But here we are.

I'm not pro-union, but I am pro "call a horse a horse". Workers have not shared in the rising profits while executive compensation has increased far beyond any reasonable level. People complaining about union leadership pay levels but ignoring how much the company pays their 'trade associations' isn't logical. Nor is deriding any kind of worker collective action while ignoring corporate collectivism. I also recognize that without unions we'd all be living in company towns.

Guess the union members should have gotten a better education and went into business management instead of being a blue collar labor worker

Quality is on the management. They're the ones who hushed it up, and likely has whistleblowers killed.

The fall off is 2020. I'm not sure I buy your argument about rising profits.

Workers are an expense to a company, just as any other expense. The market will dictate the compensation package that a worker receives. The workers are not entitiled to a share of rising profits, but if they have invested in their company they will benefit from the profits.

I have no horse in this race. We pay our few employees the very most that we can. We do this because our business is such that personnel is the most important component to our success. Our core group has been with us since 2008 when I started in business, and they make as much as I do in wages. I will turn over our assets to them when I retire and request a nominal monthly payment in trade for them. Any blue sky value in our business has been earned by them as much as me, but I am the one taking the risk. They all could go to work tomorrow for a number of competing company's and be at the top of the skill set and the highest in demand; I know this.

Where can these Boeing employees go to work tomorrow and come close to what they are earning today, without having to relocate? Nowhere is the answer, otherwise Boeing would be offering more.

From my perspective, when a company like SpaceX is going to rescue two people stuck in space that are there on behalf of Boeing, it reflects poorly on the entire Boeing operation from the top of management to the janitor. Asking for a raise when every current public impression of a company sucks doesn't make sense.

And amazingly enough, SpaceX employees rejected offers to unionize.
