I, for the life of me, can't figure out how that mileage is calculated...I think it's lying just to make me feel like I accomplished something.

I too have tried to figure that out. Mine was over the 7 day but under the 8 day total. I wonder if the 8 days isn’t based on some random time zone?

My som’s father in law is a yard spotter for Schneider and he said that all their new trucks have removed the side mirrors and are using cameras instead, but the have to carry mirrors in the truck to put on in case the cameras malfunctiondwells40 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

They have to carry mirrors to use in case camera breaks/malfunctionshope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Kinda hard to put them on if they die while driving...makes changing lanes to hit the shoulder a little tricky. What, are they magnetic? If they have trucks like the one posted earlier, it looks like the mounts are just blank cover plates.navypoppop and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

Kinda pointless to have the cameras as mirrors then.navypoppop and drvrtech77 Thank this.

Here’s a question, if the camera fails or gets knocked off while driving down the road. In the process of trying to get off the road, if a driver sideswipes another vehicle who’s getting blaimed? I mean it wouldn’t really be the drivers fault since he/she/it didn’t have the choice to have it or not. Company said use it this way. I think we all know the answer though.drvrtech77, Gearjammin' Penguin and Old_n_gray Thank this.

They can (and should be) folded in when parked (it's one button). That makes it highly unlikely that someone is going to knock it off when you're parked, and if they do there's going to be a whole lot more damage.
Surprisingly, the cost of replacing the camera/arm isn't that much more than replacing the mirror. The fuel economy difference means the whole thing pays for itself every 10 months.
The cameras don't get covered in schmutz or road grime, handle the glare from led headlights better, and make blind side backing a breeze.
Schneider has been testing these for 6 years, the failure rate is absurdly low - on par with 'real mirrors'. Maverick made the switch more than 2 years ago and we haven't heard any hulabaloo about it.
