The only real draw back I’ve heard, other then the sky is falling crowd, is you can’t change your physical position in the cab to get a different perspective like you can with a mirror. That’s coming right from the test drivers at the kenworth test facility.

I just hope I am retired before they become the mainstream (like the automated trans). I am too old school for all this modernization crap. Give me an old truck with a stick thru the floor, a place to lay my head, paper logs and a thermos of black coffee and I'll get the freight from A to B safe and sound and on time.The_vett, IH Truck Guy, carhaulerjeff and 9 others Thank this.

Amen, brother...but that world is passing away.

I agree 100%. (But I do like my gps, especially when I program the route to follow my permits.)The_vett, Lonesome and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

Now I am completely pissed off. Yesterday I PC'd to Walmart, Lowe's, and Advanced Auto Parts. At each stop I went off duty and then back on PC so that it wouldn't mistakenly put me on drive time. When I got back to the truckstop I went off duty and sleeper. Everything was fine, no errors. This morning, I wake up, start the truck to activate the connection between the truck and the POS. Then sign out and back in (as they instructed us to do because the restart option hasn't been working to fix location issues since the last software update)...when I signed back in, it THEN added a minute of drive time to yesterday's PC, thus nullifying a 34. Today may be my last day here because if they tell me there is nothing they can do to fix this, I will reset this tablet and shut it down, then use paper to bobtail home to clean it out, then email the FMCSA and inform them that this company knows they have malfunctioning /ELD equipment and refuse to rectify them. I have had all I can stand of this ######## equipment we are forced to use, and it may take the government jumping in their #### to get them to seriously resolve the issue.

Just like every other electronic device or sensor on today's trucks they are doomed to failure. When the companies order them or replacements they will surely come from China which makes their failure a sure thing. I still want my R model Mack, 6 spd. 2 stick, paper logs and less stress or BS that you drivers deal with today.The_vett Thanks this.

You’re working in the yard basically all week. Why does it matter? Stop listening to their advice. I haven’t logged out in months. Rarely even have to restart the app.IH9300SBA, gentleroger, ElmerFudpucker and 1 other person Thank this.

You must be one of the younger fellas, I'm still lusting after my B model Mack, 6 speed, 2 stick, no logs, no bunk (sleep under trailer) and no stress whatsoever.The_vett, navypoppop and Oxbow Thank this.
