Sounds like bureaucratic b.s. to me. The TWIC was supposed to be a nationwide ID so you can enter security sensitive locations. Now you need one card for certain ports and another card for others. No wonder people hate trucking in the northeast.ElmerFudpucker, 88 Alpha, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this.

Got empty in Newark in short order, then they are sending me to Lewiston PA to pick up train wheels headed to Corsicana, TX for Monday. I decided to call it a night in Frystown. Had a weird thing happen. Just before I exit, my truck started acting like it was possessed. The interior lights started blinking, and I heard a muffled voice thru my speakers, and the satellite box turned on. Plus I got 2 ABS warning lights and faults, one for the truck, one for the trailer. At first I thought it was possessed, but I realized I was going by that big shortwave station right next to I-78. I have been by that thing a hundred times, never had any issue. Now today, it zapped me. I got to the Frystown Flying J and park. I check all my fuses for the ABS and everything is fine. I shut off the battery cutoff for a while then turned it back on without it helping. So now I will have to get my truck to a shop to have the ABS computer checked out.
Lonesome, motocross25, hotrod1653 and 5 others Thank this. -

I hooked to a trailer the other day and the abs light didnt come.on amd go off like its supposed to when hooking up the pigtail but when i stepped on the brakes it would come on. Thought it was the trailer so O wrote it up with the shop at my delivery. Hooked to another trailer and it did the same thing as well as another trailer I hooked to to check it on a third. Turns out the first trailer blew the fuse in the cab.
Knucklehead, hope not dumb twucker and Oxbow Thank this. -
I finally got the trailer ABS to clear by unplugging and plugging the pigtail back in, then backing up then moving forward. Now I have a traction control light along with the truck ABS light/fault. I only see 1 fuse under the dash for the ABS, a 30 amp, which wasn't popped. Will check to see if there is a separate one for the traction control. Too bad it didn't take out my Sam-crappa tablet instead of my ABS...#### the luck.Knucklehead, hotrod1653, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.

The cause of this is scary. Imagine when autonomous trucks are on the road and something like this can screw up their systems.4mer trucker, IH Truck Guy, ElmerFudpucker and 3 others Thank this.

Other issues may appear. When I started my truck this morning to activate the Sam-crappa gateway, I got an engine fault. Shut it down and restarted a couple times and the engine fault disappeared, but I still have a truck ABS malfunction fault. No other fuses control the ABS/Traction Control system, so if it doesn't clear itself by the time I pu my load, a shop visit is in my future.Oxbow and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.
