Well I hope you hold up, I’m still not tarpping which helps me, but at some point I’m sure they will need me to start throwing rags…who knows Walmart may be my next home lol.

 

I’ve got 8 good friends that drive for them out of Sanger Tx. Been there for years and all happy and making bank.

 

Wouldn’t be the worst place to be. If I wanted to be on the road I’d probably be there.

Didn’t even realize Cowen was that close to the brink.

 

I doubt they were/are financially unstable. Both the owner (Joe Cowan) amd the president are in their 70s and looking to fund their retirements. Beyond that, they're looking at estate planning. One sure fire way to kill a private company is transferring ownership to multiple heirs - invariably someone is going go want to sell. Makes more sense to sell it all than risk the infighting.

 

Yeah I can see that. That was pretty much happened with M. Bruenger. Butch sold it instead of hanging onto it and appointing a ceo-president to run it for him.

He admitted to a few us old hands a couple years ago, that it was a mistake to sell it. We just shook our heads and walked away.

Hopefully the Cowan hands get treated right.
