    I doubt they were/are financially unstable. Both the owner (Joe Cowan) amd the president are in their 70s and looking to fund their retirements. Beyond that, they're looking at estate planning. One sure fire way to kill a private company is transferring ownership to multiple heirs - invariably someone is going go want to sell. Makes more sense to sell it all than risk the infighting.

    Yeah I can see that. That was pretty much happened with M. Bruenger. Butch sold it instead of hanging onto it and appointing a ceo-president to run it for him.

    He admitted to a few us old hands a couple years ago, that it was a mistake to sell it. We just shook our heads and walked away.

    Hopefully the Cowan hands get treated right.
