Got into it with the shop ape (and I am not being racist, he is about as intelligent as an ape). I was helping a driver get unstuck, when he came out. After the driver got his trailer out of the way, I asked him if he wanted the conestoga I was pulling put in that icy spot or over on the Wylie side. He said "I see 3 empty spots, put it there". Here are the spots

    PXL_20250116_154117587.jpg PXL_20250116_154131319.jpg PXL_20250116_154138922.jpg

I might have been able to squeeze it in next to the one aluminum step deck, but not enough room to wind landing gear. The other 2 were too narrow to fit a 108" wide conestoga in. But since I got attitude, I gave attitude. I said fine, I'll just pretend I work in the shop and just ram my way in, the other trailers will move eventually. Then he got smart with me and said the conestogas go on the back fence...where the new map in Arlington says only Wylie trailers go. I said ya'll need to get the #### straight, Wichita wants it one way, Arlington says another way. Then I went in to get tarps, which they don't have. The latest instructions from Arlington was "leave tarps on the trailer when dropping". So, when I dropped my last trailer in Arlington and picked up the conestoga, I did as instructed. I get to this f-tard terminal and they don't have replacement tarps.

And the crappy part is...they had me drop my conestoga at the terminal and pick up an open step...and what do I see getting loaded ahead of me at the same shipper...my dropped conestoga. Lets just say, the words I used to describe the situation cannot be posted here. I am gonna start referring to this new company by a different set of initials. We're not TFI, SFI, CFI, we're WTF-I. Because you can never predict WTF they're gonna do next.

And the more screwed up part, the conestoga I dropped that was being loaded ahead of me, is going the exact same place my load is going. And my dispatcher wonders why I have no faith in this area's planner.

    Brutal, just brutal.

Like me, efficiency is what you need to for that 'satisfaction' with your job. It's not about pay so much, that is a given.

Seeing the trailer I just dropped bring loaded ahead of me going to the same place....

Not just that, but the Twin Cities looks like they're not gonna get above 0 for several days once this next push of winter comes thru.

sounds to me like you just got $100 more than the other driver. You’re here for the money right?

Maybe if you had a better working relationship with the folks in Wichita you would get more “favors”. That “shop ape” is a hard working family man who’s a #### good driver and an even better mechanic. He’s just not the most cheerful guy, but he has to deal with drivers who walk around with a chip on their shoulder.

It works out great, deliver on a Monday, get paid those loaded miles. Pick up Monday get paid those empty miles.

Deliver before Friday, get those and the next load delivered by Monday. Paid.

    It’s perfect for flatbed.
