Not officially, but I have no interest in staying any longer than it takes to get another company lined up. I have contacted 2 numbers at Brakebush without any reply from either one, so I won't go down that road unless something changes on their end. I just know that there is absolutely no future for me here. I can't live on 1400 miles a week, and it seems that hiring hasn't slowed down, in fact the last YouTube forum video introduced the most new hires I have seen for quite some time. So I don't see it getting better for me here.

My 2 cents for what it’s worth, you’re justifiably pretty unhappy there, why do you not just call it quits on this home time? You live in a good area for local work, take it for a month until you get a good retirement long haul gig lined up. I watch the thread, I have for years, you come home miserable and you leave out optimistic, it’s been that way for a while for the majority of us that have watched the journey, I guess I’d just feel stuck if I was in your shoes and took another tour of duty after this home time. Tell me to kick rocks if it makes you feel better :)

    • @supersnackbar Are you wanting reefer work again for sure? If so I can rattle some bushes in South Georgia with a few people I’ve known over the years.
Otherwise I may have a few other ideas if you’d like.

Wilson, as in the company that is affiliated with Prime?

I miss hauling temp control. I've had enough of dry van over the years and I am done with open deck after this. I am also not interested in going thru the learning process for tanks or car hauling. I know reefers and enjoy pulling them.

Ok I’ll get ahold of a few small companies I know of and see if they need a driver. Otherwise I’d look into Dot foods. They have a place in Vidala.

The only local stuff around me is the small Walmart DC (that I wouldn't work for), or the USxpress dedicated at the Dollar General DC. The closest LTL/linehaul companies are in either Ocala or Jacksonville which are 75ish miles away, so even if they would gross close to what I make here, would cost me an arm and a leg in gas to commute back and forth all week. Besides, it wouldn't look good on my record to quit here, work local for a short period then switch again. And the gap in the insurance to switch twice wouldn't make the wife very happy because her prescriptions cost an arm and a leg without insurance.
