Load planner in general at a lot of companies don’t seem to know what they’re doing or don’t seem to be highly confident… Now I know there’s at times where loads are booked at the last minute and put on trucks but for the most part a lot of these loads are pre-booked And with E logs and their access to it there is no excuse for not having loads preplanned on trucks, especially on those ones that are routinely where they say they’re gonna be when they say they’re gonna be… Not planning accordingly is one of the biggest issues in this industry with some of these companies

A thought to ponder, if I have an 1,800 mile run why put a driver on it at $.68 per mile if I can assign it to a $.60 per mile driver? I suspect this will continue to happen to many of the higher earners.
Gearjammin' Penguin, D.Tibbitt, Knucklehead and 2 others Thank this. -
When they switched half the fleet from day rate to mileage, they based their cpm rate on experience, not years with the company. Basically most of the people switched went to the top of the pay scale.

R ain’t no way we have our #### together on that level. (Maybe, who knows )

Load planning has been my arch nemesis here. Out west, generally in and out (in Rancho it's usually planned before I am in). Central planner, I get a 34+ (guess I'm not one of his favorites, I have been told that he plays the favoritism game). In the east, it's a huge zone with a lot of competition for freight, so there is usually a wait while a profitable load that fits my hours is found. I wish they'd divide the east like they did the west coast so one planner doesn't have to cover such a large zone (plus manage her terminal and elevator drivers)hotrod1653, Lonesome, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this.

I agree on that last part. That would take too much thought and organization. I think the only thing most of our planners look at is if the driver has hometime planned, and what their hours look like along with proximity to the shipper.Lonesome, Oxbow, hope not dumb twucker and 2 others Thank this.

.@supersnackbar have you looked at Blackhawk transport. They are all dedicated and have a 48 state OTR flat bed division that hauls the POD containers, no tarping throw some straps on and go. I think some places you might have to take them off or in using there forklift
Knucklehead, D.Tibbitt, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
I went to their site. No current openings on their PODS division (even though they're still advertising it on Indeed)Knucklehead, D.Tibbitt, Lonesome and 3 others Thank this.

There website says they have openings in Orlando Blackhawk Transport Jobs SearchKnucklehead Thanks this.

Well that’s one way of getting rid of them, pool all of your expensive drivers in one place…and compete them with EW, who are showing up at an alarming number of places where I load.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
