I noticed something the other day about this vehicle I am hauling. None of the 4 axles have any type of steering joints or tie rods. I guess it steers like a tank would steer, one side's wheels slow down to turn

What kills me about my NC permit, no travel between sunset and sunrise...I am at the Petro in Mebane, with a full break in...and have to wait until 0700 to depart, which will puts me right in rush hour in Raleigh(with no restricted hours for OD travel)..yeah, traveling thru Raleigh during rush hour is waaaaay safer than traveling before sunrise...sometimes you have to wonder who makes these rules...oh yeah, someone behind a desk that works 8-4:30...

Commuters hate wide loads, I do wish they’d spend more time thinking about what’s wide and what’s not, but it’s easier to make one rule for all.

Just wait to your’re doing extended or loads over 12 feet wide and you get to work with escorts…

Got thru all the traffic just fine this morning. About the only thing that caused it to slow any was the blinding sun as people would round a curve from shade to bright light. On the way to Lejeune to deliver, the Toledo planner calls and was questioning if it was my choice to change my hometime or if it was a mistake. I briefly explained that I asked for the change and why. Then she tells me once empty to head to our drop yard in Ravenel, SC(that I didn't know we had) and swap my open step for a conestoga flat. Then head to Ladsen, SC to pick up engine inlets headed for Kent, WA....sweet!!!!!! So, staying out over St. Glutten's Day will pay off this year. The unload went fine... Lejeune was a lot busier than the other two bases I have been to lately.

An odd thing happened when I was shutting down tonight. My Peoplenet will randomly shut down when I turn the engine off. So, I have to make sure I am in off-duty status before turning the key. It usually reboots just fine, but this time the reboot had issues and froze for a few minutes while loading up, and then a message about something went wrong when it tried to register with Peoplenet, and to reboot. After 6 reboots(including 1 or 2 where I powered it completely down and left it off for 5 minutes or so), it still did the same thing. Powered it off one last time, went in and got something to eat, then powered it back on when I got done eating and now everything came back up like it should. Maybe Peoplenet has some sort of network outage...I will be so glad when they do away with these pieces of crap.

Did they give you the rundown of our top secret drop yard there in Ravenel?

last year October was my best month with almost 15k miles. This year I’m taking some time off. I’ll at 6k for the month so far, but oven been home since Thursday evening. May go out Wednesday if they find something. All my family festivities are already taken care of.

Toledo sent me an email with the map and code to find and enter the place, along with instructions (rules) for it's use.

Did you get that email from HR about the job opening in Wichita? Did someone there quit or get promoted? Or is there so much demand for OD freight they're hiring someone to help her out?

Good deal. No one changed roles recently that I know about. That’s a position to be Scott’s assistant. They’ve hired two different times for that role, one made it 2 days, the other lasted 3 or so weeks.
