My guess would be they want to avoid the Oregon weight distance tax, which can be excessive for heavy vehicles. It may make financial sense for them to route you around Oregon rather than deal with the ton-mile and fuel tax issues? The per mile tax rate can be up to $0.237 for 80,000 pounds and more for over 80k.

This patience thing is getting easier. I just made it thru a Walmart shopping visit on Black Friday and I didn't have to smack, kick, punch or yell at anyone...

I’m sure Mrs.Snackbar has filled you in, but you didn’t miss much in the old sunshine state this thanksgiving, sunshine has been hiding for a few days, and the heat and humidity is on the rise once again, oh, happy holidays in the south :)

That's why I live there....when Mrs. Snackbar's sisters call from Ohio on Christmas, we just love it when our grandkids are outside in shorts playing with their new toys...and their grandkids are stuck in the house because it's too frigging cold to play with their stuff outside.

One of my biggest (legal) days ever. 717 miles, and still have 11 minutes left to drive. Started my day at the Love's in Cheyenne. Now I am parked at the Boise Stage Stop. There is a Winter Storm Warning over Snoqualmie after 22:00 tonight thru Monday. The only inclement weather going along the southern route is a Winter Storm Watch after 7 am for Cabbage...so I don't care if they like it or not...I'm staying south. If the customer was open tomorrow and had overnight parking...I could be there tomorrow, but couldn't risk leaving because I couldn't make it to Arlington with the hours I had left for the day.
