Annual dot inspection on hotshot setup

    I'm jumping from running a big rig here in Colorado to my own hotshot setup and was wondering if I need an annual DOT inspection on the truck and trailer or just the trailer? Any answers will be greatly appreciated

    I often wonder how this is sorted. I run for a small 25 truck outfit and our trucks never get an annual DOT inspection. There has to be some exception that applies because the boss man is anal about following the DOT rules and regs so if he had to do them, you can bet they’d be done.
