Well just remember that just because you live in an area with cheap freight doesn't mean you have to run that cheap freight all the time... Might have to take a cheapo load to get away from FL but once you're out, smooth sailing, and when it comes time to go home you can always get a good paying load into FL. I wouldn't worry too much unless you want to be home every day or something.

You can find freight out of florida that isn't dirt cheap you will just have to watch the load board like a hawk and figure out the freight patterns and base your leaving around good freight times........

I have kind of abandoned writing this thread (hard to compete with DFO and sadwar). After so many years of running dedicated accounts and local gigs, I forgot how mundane life OTR really is, drive, eat, sleep...rinse and repeat. I typically run my hours into the ground and by time I stop for the night I am tired...guess it is old age catching up with me. Saw DFO the other day up in Carlisle (big shock there, he practically lives there) but I was comparing mileage with him...Every day on my 8 day tab with the exception of 2 days with zero's were well over 600 a day...no wonder I am tired when I park....

I have been home since last Monday, had a few things that needed to be taken care of. I only intended to be home for a 34. Funny how that works out. Finished my last must do yesterday and now am trying to find the motivation to book a load and head out of here. Hard to leave the kids and wife behind after being here for a week. I could potentially stay here until Monday, will have to see if I can find the freight I want before I make a decision...

On another note, big changes may be in the works for me. Not going to curse myself yet and let the cat out of the bag....should know something in the coming weeks.....

Exciting. Read yours, dfo and jarhead. Still gotta read sadwar. But basically all the same, you guys seem to be successfully in the choice program.

Thanks to all for answering my questions about FL and schneider. To cknwind, I share your predicament and pain of leaving the love ones behind but just so you can put things in perspective, I want to go to schneider because I choose my own home time and where to go. I now stay out 4 to 6 weeks and if I can reduce that to at least half...well I will be happy. Hope that you get what your heart desires!
