You're right, food service is horrible and ruins the back. I've seen beverage drivers in their 30's hobbling around like they're 90 yrs. old.

Someone here on TTR posted that they were pulling containers for Schneider out of charlotte.

This was a few years ago, but from reading the posts it seemed like a pretty good deal with a lot of home time. Pay seemed to be pretty good too, from what I could remember.

He works every day and touches freight? Is $400 his take home or gross? Does he take advances? Does he check his settlement sheet to see that he is being paid properly? What about deductions from his check?

Dont do a fleece purchase. Do work for a company that has good pay and benefits. Fleece purchase is just another scheme for the company to "fleece" the drivers. The truck is theirs and you are not buying anything.

Dont fall victim to "Shiny truck syndrome" and let the carrier bait you into a fleece purchase.

Turn in the CDL and get an office job would be my suggestion. Seriously though, This job will have Highs and Lows, Just remember that and try to keep a positive attitude.
