Well your supposed to be on duty when loading/unloading a tanker. I feel like it's normal for them to charge you to replace a key. Alerts only go off if your causing them to go off. Only one that sometimes goes off on me is lane departure. Because loves to read a lane that doesn't exist

So that entire time your loading/unloading is hourly paid but taking from your 70 or potential drive time... can you clock on duty for let's say 1 hour only even if it takes 2 or logs is on you about clocking everything exact? Obviously you're making more driving vs on duty hourly? Sounds like running recaps isn't a driving option with tanker if you want to maximize earnings?

What'd Oakleys length of haul like? They do any long haul or is it all East of I-35

Well they hired someone out of Cali. So I assume they might do stuff that way. My trainer when I was originally going tanker. Said when he was hired they had him bring juice to Cali then go back empty. That must of been expensive ### juice

It's not uncommon for 50% deadhead in tanker

Hourly pay lol - it’s zero pay.

The idea, at least for me, was to log a few minutes in/out, and off duty the time between. Save the hit on the 70. But, when the off duty time (when you’re obviously working) doesn’t count toward your daily rate time it’s a big wtf. The predicament. Log it on duty and wipe out your 70, or take one for the team?

fwiw, I’ve run recaps for months at other tanker companies.

I had a job like that once that was hourly. I logged every minute to the penny. I would blow through 70 hours in 4 days . Id sit through the reset and then do it again. But I got paid so I was like "oh well"

You’re funny and clearly drinking the Koolaid. Or have Stockholm Syndrome.

Alerts go off when someone crosses 3 lanes and slams their brakes to make an exit. Alerts sound as the system reads a 35mph exit ramp speed limit. Alerts go off when a driver cuts in front of you after taking 2-miles to pass you.

$400 for a key? I’ve never lost one, but that’s ridiculous. It’s not an electronic fob.

I got paid hourly at a previous tanker company. During orientation the 1st thing said about pay, “your hours worked don’t need to match your logs.” 100 hour pay weeks weren’t uncommon.
