What’s decker’s pc policy and average length of haul like? How much hometime can you take with the truck?
Any good reefer companies with guaranteed weekly pay?

Hometime: depends on where you live, but for Midwest Reefer they offer home weekly as well as home every other week. I don't know the details of home every other week, but home weekly means you generally come home sometime Friday and leave sometime Sunday or come home sometime Saturday and leave sometime Monday. There are drivers that choose to stay out a lot longer though, especially on the OTR Reefer fleet. For instance, my trainer stays out a whole month and then is home for five days.
PC policy: 50 miles or 60 minutes per day. This is actually another reason I switched: Schneider doesn't allow PC on their accounts, at least not the one I was on. Decker also has yard move and split sleeper options on their HOS tablet.
I'd say the main negative thing about Decker is that they have inward facing cameras, but they don't bother you too much about them. And they turned the seatbelt checker thing off because it kept malfunctioning. All they really care about is that you aren't texting while driving.Speed_Drums, Lostmykey, Vic Firth and 1 other person Thank this. -
How much experience does Decker require?
I remember a time when they hired new cdl school grads.
Nothing shows on the website about that.

I found this; is this correct as far as you know?

OK, that's good information. I'll note that in my notebook.

By the time I went back for a second tour in 2021, a few things had changed. I was now outside their hiring area (but granted an exception because I was a productive driver and still agreed to be out for 3+ weeks at a time). No more school in Bessemer, they consolidated it all at the home office in Fort Dodge, IA. And that was the last week they were doing a full week long orientation, the following week they switched to 2 classes per week. Relevant to your query, I recall my recruiter telling me at that time they were no longer accepting people straight out of any CDL school at all.
But it sounds like they are back to accepting new graduates now? At any rate, they seem to modify their recruiting parameters as their needs change over time.
I always dealt with the recruiter Bryce, who I hit it off with the very first time I called (way back when I was still in CDL school). I would not hesitate to call him again any time and get some updated information, he is a strait shooter and tells it like it is, doesn't try to sugar coat anything. We share the philosophy that misrepresenting what the job really is only leads to people quitting eventually anyway.Chinatown Thanks this. -

Yes, they just started back up recently, although word has been slow to get out it seems. And Bryce is still here; we met him during orientation. Very nice guy. -
I did flatbed, not reefer, but I found Decker to be a very decent company. It sounds like you are getting on just fine so far, and (much?) better than previous situation. If you ever have any issues, take them to your Fleet Manager, or if you really must, go over their head to Driver Advocate or someone else. Decker really is interested in hanging on to good drivers.
