First off, the only part that falls apart is the frond dash peices. The back and sleeper is solid. When i got mine i spent 600 bucks on replacement dash peices and installed them myself. Now i don't need to wonder. I beet the heck out of my truck since many flatbed shippers are off road. It handles it just fine. As for suspention, airbags, frame etc. Its just as strong as any other truck. Just be sure to tighten your ubolts.

TMC trucks dont get sold until they are ready for an inframe. "Like new interiors"? They dont replace the interior before sale. Most have 900.000+ miles on the interior.

As for governor at 62, that means they were driven agaist the governor their entire life, which isn't good for anything. Most also have a lifetime mpg average of 5.5. If you want a 379, tmc is a decent place to buy one, but they are not nice perfectly treated trucks. Service was every 40K. They were also driven by abusive drivers right out of cdl school.

387 is tons cheaper then 379 and you have a lot more living space as well as higher mpg. It looks like a football helmet, but, the trucks are hear to make us money, not win beauty contest.

OP was asking if he could find a 379 that would not need an inframe right away. so buying a truck that was governed at sixty two at a lower rpm at 475hp would be a much better bet than one at 550hp running at 72 mph at 1800rpm for 800,000 +miles. I don,t know what you mean by running against govenor. its just a setting in the computer. As far as the interior goes if you realy drove for them you would know how anal they are about that.Had my truck in pete dealer one time and every guy in the shop was amazed at how nice the interior was at over 850,000miles. so if he could find one of there units in the high 800s he should get at least a year out of it being that most of them have 1million plus. by the way service was every 28- 30k.

Kinda like asking if there are any good used '69 Camaros. Yeah, but they're in high demand, won't be cheap.

I bought mine with just over 800,000 miles on it for $38,000. Interior is immaculate and the body in very good. Engine runs like a dream, I get a good 6mpg and it doesn't leak anything. I wouldn't trade it for the world and I'll rebuild before I buy anything else.
