ya you should hire a driver and have less headache. That’s what I’m saying. Why it has to be another owner operator?
Any independent O/O’s consider team driving with another O/O?

I don’t understand how it will work. You are paying for two trucks, two trailers, two insurances, two tags, two salaries and have one truck running. It’s a dumb idea.

I’ve got 3 trucks road ready, 1 in shop, 2 trailers.
That way I’ve got a spare or two.
Did have a guy helping who has now retired completely.
But all I owe on is a trailer i got last year, could have bought it outright but it went through Wilson, the manufacturer of the trailer itself for 2.75% interest, unless you miss a payment, then it goes to like 15%.Its autopay at that.
Anyway, I help another company out who has been in business since late 80s they’ve got 8 trucks but 3 are local only, daycabs.
But I haul their freight if they get in a bind.
I just don’t want to team drive but when helping them a couple of us will leave the same time and run that way together.Siinman Thanks this. -

How is one truck running team going to make enough money to cover the expenses on the parked truck and all the expenses that come along with that since each truck will be running on different authority?
Then each person would have to be an employee of the everyone else’s company that’s involved. That’s driver files and drug testing for every person at each company. Maintaining logs could be a little bit of a headache if people were switching back and forth all the time.
If you want to run team then why not just hire a driver to run team with you and pay them a wage? What would they need to “know the business” for if you will be there with them in the truck 24/7? All they would have to do is drive and you could run your business. -
This is why it's good to ask questions of your peers...
I don't have any monthly payments...only fuel when I take a load...
