Any of you guys get LASIK?? Has it affected your driving??

Well if you look up complaints about lasik then guess what, you're gna get complaints about lasik.

I been looking at it too, but one mistake and they can't just fix it that easy. Maybe I'll wait a few more years and see of technology got any better. I heard they have to stick a needle into your eye. Yup not happening, I rather be put to sleep

No problems here. I had contacts and had the halo thing at night and dry eyes when It got late at night.

I don't have any of that now and my vision is perfect still .
I highly recommend it.

 

I just had this discussion with my eye doc. I already have somewhat dry eyes, she strongly urged me to keep using contacts.

But she did tell me of a new procedure they're testing where they implant contacts into your eye. At first thought, I was horrified. But after she explained it, it don't sound too horrible. The risk seems much lower than Lasik. But after I left I got to thinking, what happens when the implanted lens is not strong enough?

 

When it gets that dry, I hang a damp towel on a plastic hanger. It makes a huge difference.

 

the dr. I went to checked my eyes to see if I could have it done at no charge. I couldn't wear contacts my eyes were to bad they didn't make them strong enough for me. when they do the procedure they put eye drops in your eyes to numb them. they do all kinds of test to check you eyes an enter the numbers in the computer. to get the right measurements then program the laser computer to do it.

 

Good grief...what's ur prescription? I thought my eyes were bad.

 

Remind the doctor to put lemon juice in your eyes before surgery because your eyes will crust over and you will be blind if you don't. In 2006 I went to an independent doctor that use to be a professor at Baylor university and had laser eye surgery. Do not go to a doctor that's calls himself good doctor and associates or the name of a town and associates. Because all they are is salesman with no performance history. They just want you to become a medical patient the rest of your life so they get a commission check for putting some drug down your throat. If they give you Valume and Viccadin before your surgery. I considered doing this about 10 years ago. I just kept putting it off. Every person I know that has had it done is happy. I actually had cataract surgery in my left eye last year and the new lens left me 20 20 in that eye. I am trying to get it done now on my right eye. Its 20 25 and I was able to get my vision correction restriction off my DL.

 

I don't remember what my prescription was. the military would not expect me because of my eyes.

 

I had laser surgery in 95 , lasik supposed to be much better.
Driving at night is my only complaint. When raining or in construction zone with Jersey walls and oncoming traffic headlights are like starburst or halos. Or two lane highways at night are also difficult for me.
