I'm taking my tests tomorrow for the permit here in Texas so I can have it in hand when I get there. Everybody have a safe trip and we'll see you all there!
-
Depends how long takes you to get your CDL. How long instructor has you. How long takes to find an instructor. How long you spend on pad after your 75 hours. How many times you bomb cdl test.
It took me almost 5 weeks before I got my CDL. Then I was on trainers truck another 3 before I got my first hometime. Would have stayed out later but ran out of medicine. -
OK, Steady, let me see if I understand what you wrote: You're taking your CDL permit test in Texas and will be taking your CDL test in Missouri with a Texas CDL permit, correct? Missouri accepts your Texas CDL as valid while on Missouri's roadways in training, right? Anyone in similar situations can answer, too.
I ask because I'm all kinds of confused about this--then again, maybe it's just Michigan's rules that I'm confused about because I thought I was told by them that Michigan's CDL permit is only good on Michigan roadways.
Guess I should take my own advice and check with the Michigan SoS and a Prime recruiter again. -
heading ma. dmv tomorrow take cdl permit test so have when get to Missouri.
-
I used an Ohio Permit while driving on the roads. Then got my Missouri CDL which I transferred to an Ohio CDL.
Best bet, call your local DMV and ask.
Plus you aren't going to be spending too much time driving is Missouri anyway, so what Missouri requires is kind of pointless.
Just check to make sure your Permit is valid outside of your state, which it should be. -
That's the whole sticky part. Michigan is funny in some ways and that might be one of them. I have to verify the information from a couple of different sources, just to make sure. I only want to have to take one set of tests, so I might just wait and do it all wherever I go to school because when I return, I won't have to take any Michigan tests except the hazmat, which seems to be pretty standard in all states for some reason.
By the way, "SoS" means Secretary of State, which is the Michigan department that handles all vehicle and driver licenses. Funny.
