I'm more looking for suggestions on who to contact. I want to go out and drive far. I live in Houston, TX I45/i10 area (or Waco, TX (I35 area) I have residents in both cities) and would prefer to take 5-7 days off at a time.
I have 3.5+ years of experience I took the last 12 months off to be with my family after 2 close family members died (separately). I have 2.5 years Dry and 1 year Refer experience along with my tanker endorsement but with a manual restriction and a passport. I'm looking to run 3,000+ miles a week I don't care about more money if I'm sitting I find that boring and it stresses me out I also don't want local or regional work (home daily or weekly).
My driving record is 1 incident about 1.5 years ago labeled as a sideswipe no injuries (so no Walmart) and I haven't had any luck with finding smaller companies in Houston as most of them work with hazmat and tankers or flatbeds and require experience with both.

I haven't contacted anyone yet but I'm goin to start Next week after I get my medical done and my CDL upgraded back.

My top companies based off of my research are
Holland Ent. (only one advertising these requirements)
Crete/Shaffer (Past Job)(not high on the list but I'm able to be rehired)
Schuster Co (past job left for Crete dedicated)
    Poly Trucking
    KLLM/FFE
    K&B (this is a Joke)
    WFX
Van Eerden (if they hire in my area)
    Tribe Transportation

Lastly If you have info on Holland or any other company listed or not listed I'd be interested in Pay per mile, %, or hourly(no yearly figures that means nothing to me), Home time, realistic miles per week or monthly (Crete OTR were sitting all the time when I was there). And if they generally do long runs (not just occasionally).

    Knucklehead Thanks this.

Holland is your best and only bet for what you’re wanting. They are an auto only fleet, 48 states no Canada and no forced NYC. You might wave when pass by there, but they won’t force you to go in.

@Anonymousproxy will be your best source of information on them. My information is a few years old.

    Keep us posted!!

I concur with holland. They definitely have long runs here, and as for that incident that’s something you’ll have to ask recruiting about. They’re VERY serious about being safe & legal but there’s none of the micromanaging or constant bugging the driver like the bigger companies do.

Van Eerden doesn't pay any money.
They have their mechanics on duty 24/7 times 5 days a week. That's where all their $$$$ goes along with their large liberal staff. You will likely sit out West 1-2 days before a return load. The load out West may have multiple stops, likely costing you a day. Then, when you return to the terminal, they will schedule you for Service, which costs you another day. Then, the next time you return from our West, they'll schedule you for another service. I don't think they care about their driver's. You can only fuel from their list of truckstops in different states

Current Holland driver here. If you're still looking/gathering info, Holland would be by far the best fit. Be mindful though that the ticket you have on your record *will* cost you cpm. I had one on mine that I had a lawyer take care of, but it still showed up on my report, so they axed a few cpm off my starting pay. And they won't count "old" experience, either. When I got hired, I only had 1 year recent experience, but 5 years from 2015-2020. They would only use the recent experience for pay purposes, which sucks because I'm making less cpm than my last 2 companies. But the miles are there (last paycheck had 4k miles on it with no overlap), they leave me the effity eff alone, and the customers don't generally suck.

For me it was a bit of an adjustment to go back to mileage pay. But it’s been worth it. They really do leave drivers alone unless something comes up. It’s a lot better than the toxic mess I left behind.
