I've done it. Company refused to make repairs. Sent them emails and texts, got my evidence and left the truck in a secure place.
Told them make the repairs and send me paperwork proof the repairs were made with the mechanics number so I can talk to him.
Never heard back from the company.
Anybody ever just abandon your co. truck?

I got tired of fighting with the dispatchers at a Jerome Idaho Trucking Company, wont mention any names, and parked mine in the Fontana CA transfer lot. They knew how pissed I was and also that I did not make idle threats about going to the Transportation Dept about them. This was before ELDs and they expected you to drive from Denver to Ontario CA in one shift. They did not put anything on my DAC nor did they keep any of my pay.
Lonesome, Gearjammin' Penguin and bzinger Thank this. -
30 years later I'm still trucking.stwik, Bumper, JForce28 and 1 other person Thank this. -
For awhile I was flying out and picking up abandoned rigs, most drivers are real pigs when they leave the rig. Theres ways of getting off the truck without trashing the truck. For instance tell them you have a personal emergency and must go home as soon as possible. a week later after you have recieved your final check let them knoew your not returning to work.
Tall Mike Thanks this.
