You can't lease on a carrier that has their own authority. To share work with another motor carrier you would need broker authority. We lost the ability to interline or trip lease with a fully authorized motor carrier as part of the broker reform changes about 10 years ago.

If you want to lease someone onto your company they will need to remove their name and US DOT numbers from the truck(s), display your company's name and US DOT number, have a compliant lease agreement executed and carried in the vehicle, you will need to provide insurance for their equipment and complete driver qualification files, including drug tests, on the drivers as if they were your employees.

If the owner operator already has insurance can they still keep it if I add them into my insurance? Also for the name on truck can they put a paper with my company info or does it have to be stickers on the side?

With broker license isn’t that double brokering? So how can I still give loads the correct/legal way?

Don’t understand, it is a vague question so you want to have another Carrier work for you and they have their authority to operate as you have an authority to operate?

    right?

    why?

I don’t mean why as in an over view but why with details.
