lol I had a new stereo installed in my 2020 Freightliner. The old one would lock up every day…..
The new one works so much better… but it has the ‘mute reverse’
This really pisses you off? How long does it take you to back up…. 2 minutes your in the dock and it’s playing again… wow… so inconvenient….D.Tibbitt and homeskillet Thank this. -
I guess you've never driven milk truck. We do ALLOT of backing and in tight places. Sometimes multiple pull ups are required to get it right. I might back up a dozen times in a day. A dock? We dont typically have those, I have 1 farm that has live loading that might be considered a dock. Everything else is a recieving bay or a farm. The stereo is really annoying if your trying to maneuver on a snowy or icy driveway.
I turn the volume OFF. My point is, there way a better way to engineer this thing. If the driver mutes the stereo is should remain off until the driver unmutes it. Dont override the driver, that's what I find particularly annoying.
A few of the trucks are t880 autoshift with infotainment centers. I'm not saying I'm one to do this, but two of the drivers got pissed off enough at the situation to smash those screens.JoeyJunk, Lostmykey and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -

Wait a minute now.....you mean the truck beeps if you wander out of your lane, it beeps when you back up, the brakes apply if the truck senses something in front of you, they're testing "driverless" trucks, dispatch can watch you with a camera when driving, AND NOW, some moron invented a am/fm radio that shuts off when you back up ? But hey, that's trucking ! ! 2021 style
