The first time was from doing things like close grip bench press and bicep preacher curls. Felt like someone hyperextended my arm. It really hurt.
The last time was worse. I used to do forearm curls, and zero forearm extensions. The imbalance in strength between the opposing muscles creates a strain. Like the rear calf muscles being so much stronger than the front makes for shin splints. Or how the hip flexors becoming so tight that it creates lower back pain. I had zero grip and all pressing lifts hurt.
“What does all that have to do with trucking, Six?”
If you have big arms, there’s certain movements to avoid. For example, the right arm touching the right shoulder. Or close grip push ups. Anything where the arm is bent and your biceps and forearm muscles are fighting for space. It strains the elbow. That pain is in the joint and right above.
If it’s in the joint and below, it’s the imbalance of strength in the opposing forearm muscles. Get a really thick book, or a small dumbbell, palm down forearm on knee and raise the weighted hand up. It will take a few days, but the pain will go away.
Anyone else with tennis elbow?

Does it make you feel more important? Or were you just influenced by a quirky old school English teacher or a certain book author?TripleSix Thanks this. -
. @TripleSix does it with class. I’m good with it.

Anticipating questions. I actually got the idea from an old Ironhead Heyward (RIP) commercial.
My mind now is pondering why anyone would need to feel important. If you like who you are, why would you need others to validate you? This is going to take some time…88 Alpha, Hammer166, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this. -

Those compression bands that fit just below your elbow on the forearm do wonders. I got a pretty bad case when I first started carhauling, I wore them while loading for a few months and haven't ever had a recurrence.

I had a case of patellar tendinitis, which is basically the leg version of tennis elbow. I wore a knee brace, rubbed Aspercreme with lidocaine on it, and took one Aleve before starting to drive. It got better in a month or so.
