If someone is 200lbs overweight then it could be an option to trim fat and get back to a reasonable shape in a reasonable time. To sustain it as a lifestyle diet. NO way!

Been doing keto for years. Went off it in March. Just went back on again last week.

I feel so much better. All the beans, rice and other carbs just wreck me.

So glad to be back. I stopped only because I was interested in seeing what would happen. I gained weight felt like ####, and my energy level dropped.

I can't do keto too long as I am a dog for cheese cakes that my mama makes and juicy peaches in Summer time. How could I miss all that? It would break her heart too, if I refused to eat all her goodies....for ever.

The keto diet is simply the winter diet of our ancestors before canned or preserved foods. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, as long as you get some fiber and simple greens.

As a permanent diet, it can work too, but you need a lot more variety in a permanent keto diet then a temporary keto diet.

Some people literally experience life-changing improvement on a permanent keto diet. For instance some people who suffer from seizures can drop seizure counts and severity dramatically. Early stage Alzheimers / dementia sufferers can experience dramatic improvement in cognitive function, and slow the progress of mental degradation.

Don't say the diet is bad when it's not. All things in moderation.

    LOL.

The science says otherwise. Grains aren’t good for everyone.

There isn’t a one size fits all diet.

My diet of high fat, moderate protein and 25g of carbs puts my metabolism, blood pressure, energy, and longevity into the green.

I eat grains and I literally get stiff. I eat beans and my body starts to bloat.

I eat broccoli and spinach in large amounts. Low fat foods like chicken are just wasted on me. I never get satiated, and then I turn to easy foods.

There are dangers involved in taking most medicines too. That doesnt mean you should avoid them.

Thing is that most dangers associated with ketosis diets are either due to pre-existing health issues, or extremely lopsided ketosis diets that take in extreme levels of LDL's.

Ketogenic diets that are meant for long term use almost always include legumes and leafy greens in moderation.
