Anyone seen a fridge and microwave shelving unit that replaces the passenger seat?

Sounds like a great idea. Update with pics, if you end up doing it. Probably have to build it yourself. Pre finished particle board shelves, from home improvement store are cheap and look nice. You can get fancy with screws and covers for them, in the hardware section, furniture hardware, Lots of ideas, not enough time.

    End of story.

Step 1: Buy the fridge and zapper, then take them both to a metal fabricator. Step 2:Show and tell said fabricator what you want.
Step 3: Go out and make some money.
Step 4: Pick up your finished item and install in truck.
Step 5: Be glad you didn't build it of cheap particle board and Chinee screws as your steel/aluminum cabinet takes the shock of our pothole and frost crease littered highways.

I forgot, you have to reinforce the corners with duct tape. That’s the main thing. Lol. Great point, I agree. Use metal, bolt it down,

Yeah, fridges and microwaves aren't real heavy, but they are heavy enough to tear up a wooden cabinet on bad pavement unless they are absurdly overbuilt, in which case, might as well just use metal. CA, IN, MI, TN, etc.

Ok...what I did with my microwave was, I took the cover off and the little feet off the bottom. Put some bolts from inside out through the 4 holes in the bottom and nuts with lock washers on those. (you might need to temporarily remove the large, square capacitor or whatever it is) Drilled corresponding holes in a shelf and dropped the 4 bolts through them. Locked it down with more nuts and washers.

    A lot of good ideas.

I like the idea of it rotating so that you can load it from the outside.

Somehow all of this makes me wonder how Doug Heffernan would set things up if he could have a fridge and a microwave right next to him all day...

The rotating idea is great. A rotating pedestal for a boat would work. They got them at any Marina, I think I saw one at Wal Mart,

Reminds Me of the time, my Dad was asleep, when a Student rolled it over. TV fell on him, cracking a rib. The student was in a panick, hollering “In sorry” over and over, while my Dad kicked the windshield out!! Lol Good Times. Definitely want to secure it good.

I’ve seen mini fridge/microwave combos in motel rooms. Thought that would be a good idea for a truck.
