While visiting my parents on my 34 my mom suggested I get myself an air fryer for the truck. Says she uses hers for just about anything, including pork chops, and chicken. That's on top of French fries and chicken nuggets as well.
Looking into one, I can see how viable it could be, not much bigger than a toaster, but not as big as a camp stove. My only concern is the power usage, as the ones I looked into use anywhere from 1400 watts to as much as 1600 watts on the higher end models.
Just curious if anyone here uses one and can give me an honest review on one. I have a 2000 watt inverter currently
Sorry for the duplicate thread, my connection was sketchy
Anyone use an air fryer on the road?

Good rule of thumb is half the power of your inverter.

Only a 2000 watt inverter to feed a 1600 watt monster?
You will want to go up to a 4000 watt inverter.
The second problem is thermal waste from the appliance. That heat has to go somewhere and it might not be something you want inside your cab surrounded by material that can burn pretty easily.Lepton1, Gunner75 and Cottonmouth85 Thank this. -
Cooking meat without grease might as well eat a can of that fake meat spam. I'm kidding.

The waste heat has to go somewhere and I cannot think of where. Unless you stand outside and cook the meat in it right quick through the side box.
We used two 12 volt dutch oven type cookers that takes hours to cook a meal. Usually a roast meat or ham with onions, potatos of some kind and a little bit of gravy where possible. 5 to 8 hours later there are two hungry drivers ready to have at it.
The problem is the heating element in the 12 volters burn through in 6 months and you take it back to replace it at Petro. They have always been gracious and replace it no questions. You would think someone who makes these things would understand the flaws and reengineer the production so that a stronger version that will not burn through comes out and slow down the losses through replacement. -
It won't release the heat because it's sealed

Update this someone..old post ..but I'm considering a 700 to 800 watt air fryer in my truck, I cook on the truck all the time, just figured this would be great to have but I won't go past 800 watts...I have a company truck 1500 watt inverter, my 700 watt microwave I've had for 10 yrs no problem and it all works good, just don't run every appliance at once..lol

You have to think about how you'll clean the air fryer after you're done cooking. I have one at home and I wouldn't want to have to deal with cleaning it in the truck or inside the truck stop.
