So, for the benefit of drivers wanting to attend "the best" school, who is it? I don't need to figure it out I am working on my retirement.
Are "manual transmissions only" types of drivers supertruckers?

Any PTDI certified school or technical college program. PTDI graduates tend to score below 10 on the CDL test and rarely have a problem passing my company's training program. Non PTDI graduates struggle with getting through training as our program assumes that because you already have a CDL you should know the difference between an air compressor, and ac compressor, an alternator and a water pump.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Can I still have fingerless gloves and a chain drive wallet if I drive an auto?
Another Canadian driver and Oxbow Thank this. -
I learnt most of what I know from watching dad. Even the shifting came somewhat natural. The engine sound during a shift up/down was pretty much ingrained into me by the time I was 10 lol.
Even when I went to driving school there was a time we had to cross a soft spot in the yard behind the college and I just instinctively reached over and locked the diffs in before I crossed. Instructor was pretty shocked lol.Blue jeans, Another Canadian driver, Gearjammin' Penguin and 2 others Thank this. -

Wasn’t knocking your school or the instructor. Just pointing out that you went in to win. That alone will set you at the top of the class. Your instructor recognized. Good job, hand.Another Canadian driver, Wargames, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this.

You nailed it , I started driving for my dad in 1971 , dump truck on site.
In 74 got a chauffeurs license , in Georgia that let you drive anything with wheels on it. Started doing OTR , been trucking ever since. If I told Dad that I've never driven something before his favorite saying was " you aren't going to learn any younger now get in there and go"Blue jeans, Another Canadian driver and TJB15 Thank this. -
