I’ve been wanting to go into the fields for awhile now (couple years) but have been seeing sooo many ups and downs there that I find it nearly impossible to find steady work in terms of the plans I want in the future. Just seems more like I would go there make money to invest and leave. I’m curious how OTR driving works for O/O I am involved a lot more each day when it comes to business and running my own. How are companions like Landstar.. tbh that’s the only one I know I see others but that’s the big one I hear. Are people making oilfield money just driving OTR? And can you choose where you drive? I can’t stand driving Co and PNW during these winter times
Are there better options than oilfields for O/O? How is Landstar?

I know there’s a question in here somewhere that I can help with.
Chinatown, shogun and DevJohnson Thank this. -
Lol sorry I let my brain ramble
•Oilfields are so back and forth only thing that stands out is the money of course
•Being so.. is it better to maybe find work as an O/O with a rebuttable company like Landstar and do they pay well you know?
•I’m 26 and am just trying to find the better option from drivers who’s been through trial and error. I know we all want different things but when it comes to money who makes a good living right now?blairandgretchen Thanks this. -

Same goes for Landstar and just about every other company.
What works for me might not work for you.
Way to many variables.Lepton1, DevJohnson and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
I’m at LS, platform specialized, done good. Not OTR, so far as “x miles to pay the bills” mentality goes.
Find the niche.Lepton1 and DevJohnson Thank this.
