I had to deliver egg cartons to a commercial farm like a few months back, had to stop for cattle, a few llamas, and two turkeys thst took forever for them llamas n cows to move, oh not to mention a horse that stood there just looking at the hood of my truck with a look like what do you want!! Not to mention the road before you get to the goof road ..Otto can have fun with that one....it'll prolly send an automated signal with onboard camera that it's stuck....um foreign object in road...um truck shutting down due to this in the message...lmbo

I'm a car hauler. I'd like to see OTTO load 3 SUV's, a minivan and 3 sedans on a 8-car Cottrell, and at 8 seperate pickup locations (not dealerships) - all without damaging any vehicles and while not going over on an axle. And can the robot truck drop those same vehicles off at 8 different locations (not dealerships)?

I think it's going to be a while before they can take humans completely out of the driver's seat.

What I don't understand is they say automation is brought on by a "driver shortage". Are they going to put less qualified idiots in these cabs to do the part that they already mess up the most, dock maneuvering, load securement, and general on the road load maintenance? Pay someone less todo what is already done by a more qualified human and still done incorrectly? Driving the highway is the easy part! (Supposed to be) And, they expect to get qualified people for less money to run these $400k machines? It does not add up to me. This is a long time out, if Nicola or Otto can figure out the equipment.

No, no, many companies ( Landstar amongst them ) feel that local driving isn't as challenging as OTR driving lol.

No, they use trailers for warehousing. If everyone parked nose in and popped their seals we could probably turn a T/A into a Walmart.

Otto isn't doing the tailgate work. It's only going to take away the one easy part of my day. Broad daylight, wide open interstate.

    Otto won't go to Manhattan,
Otto won't work in the snow,
    Otto won't work at night,
Otto won't roll a hand truck into a building

So as long as the Upper West Side wants,,,, stuff, I've got job security.
