It all depends on what you re looking for in choosing a company. Arnold is part of the US Xpress companies that include Total Transportation, Link America, C and C trucking of Duncan, Abilene Motor Express. Arnold is more a regional company. Swift is an OTR company that also has a lot of dedicated freight in your area seeing that you live along the I 85 corridor in SC. Either one of them would get you through the house on a regular basis
daviajosh Thanks this. -
Arnold bought out C&C in Duncan, SC in 2010. Link bought Arnold from USX. Usx has minority share now just as they do in Abilene Motor Express and Smith Transport and New Century Transport. Arnold is good on getting you home especially living near a terminal. New pay package rolling out now. My miles are averaging between 2500 and 3000 consistently. So it isnt bad if you get along with your dispatcher.

Arnold will run you west if you ask for it. I live in Florida and have been running out to west texas. We have loads that take you to CO and UT...theres loads if you let your dispatcher know you dont mind running out there. The Dallas drivers complain alot about the company but seeing some I see why they dont make money. But the dallas planners love jacksonville based drivers because we will run the loads with no complaints because they are miles which is money.

What type of miles does arnold pay? Household goods? Or practical
-
They pay practical miles. I don't know many or any big companies that pay household movers guide miles anymore. I usually drive an extra 10-20mls per load than what they pay which is no skin off my back. I make more than enough that I dont mind the few miles extra here n there. Theres some loads theyve paid and I ran less miles.

Is arnold trucks 10speeds.i heard most are autos?
-
Most are 8speeds. They phased out most of the autos. There are still some autos here and there but not many. I like and prefer the autos personally.
-
8 speeds ?
Since when ??
-
All the new petes are...midroofs and condo units. The new cascadias might be 10's. The petes may be 9's but i call it 8 cuz i never use first gear. Hell i hardly use 2nd for that matter.
