    Hi Friends,

Was talking to a buddy about his relocating to Western NC, and remembered visiting Ashville (some time ago). Its grown quite a bit since then. Upon doing a search i see Conway has an operation out there and also Averitt.

Anyone working out of Western Carolina?

Depends on how much experience you have a few smaller outfits out there that pay better but want experience!

I lived in asheville for four years. It's a great place to live.....####ty place to make money. Fed ex has a hub in Arden and I believe old dominion does as well. The averitt terminal is right down the street from the ford dealer I worked at. My advice is don't live in buncombe county. Taxes are ridiculous compared to the surrounding county's also housing has skyrocketed due to everyone moving there and wanting to live as close to Asheville as possible.

    tman78 Thanks this.

I used to live in Mars Hill, NC just North of Asheville. I worked for Maverick from there. Biggest problem I had was finding parking for the truck while on home time.

Taxes are ridiculous there because it's the most liberal city in the state seems to be a safe haven for every liberal nut job to go to As far as jobs most all the LTL companies have terminals there but for most all are small not a lot of openings.Averitt would probably be your best shot other then maybe local dump truck companies or logging, or food or beverages distribution, and you have the same ole same ole OTR jobs Schneider,us express, and so on

Ever considered Charlotte? I live here and Charlotte is a smorgasbord for good trucking jobs.

But if you're dead set on the Asheville area, and you have experience, I'd try to get a job with Ingles supermarkets out of Black Mountain.

Last I heard (which has been a couple years so might have changed) Ingle's requires 5 years experience but is a good job if you can get it.
