1. Yes. There are links to practice tests on the site. 2. I believe so. Perhaps one of the trainer types will chime in. It's handy to have. 3. The CB is on your dime; while it isn't absolutely necessary, it's a good idea and makes a lot of things go more smoothly. The trucks come equipped with a CD/AM/FM/Sirius satellite receiver. If you want the satellite radio to work, the subscription is on your dime.
Thanks IP , just wanting to make sure I study the right parts of the manual . First glance at it almost gave me a heart attack. lol
Hazmat is just a lot of memorization... you won't need to take that test until you have your CDL, and are ready to transfer it back to Kentucky. Tanker is a good one to have as well... as it stands now, some of the bulk liquid containers they load into a reefer trailer require that endorsement. For the permit you need general knowledge, combination vehicles and airbrakes.
Hazmat endorsements don't transfer... you'll get a CDL issued by the state of Missouri, and they'll do your hazmat background check during PSD. At some point in the next month or so after you get your CDL, you and your trainer wiill be dispatched with a load to Kentucky where you'll transfer your license to your home address. At that time, you'll have to take the hazmat test.
1. Yes 2. Not require, but having it can get you out of an area sooner than other drivers. 3. Radio, yes. XM is on you. CB, no.
DTB, sorry..lol. After reviewing, I should have been more specific. Does everybody get the extra 5cpm when running the NE, or only if they're regional? Sounds like everybody spends a lot of time in the NE, which is why I was wondering.
You only get the NE 5cpm if you are assigned to the NE fleet. You have to live there in order to be assigned to that fleet.
