Yeah I know it's F'd up but thought it was funny actually. Makes you wonder who hires a lawyer for something life changing important without actually knowing their qualifications? It reminds me of a carrier that books a load from a broker with poor reviews and low credit then surprised that they don't get paid. I mean the info was available beforehand this could've been avoided.

The rational fallacy in this reply is "argumentum ad verecundian," aka an argument from authority, which, among other things, presupposes that an argument or opinion expressed by a person who is not a credentialed expert in the field must be wrong.
To that, let's add an ad hominem fallacy too, since nowhere do you examine the competence of the faux lawyer, you merely assassinate his character.
In my experience, the most egregious con artists out there are actual members of the legal profession, who exhibit immoral, avaricious, dastardly behavior, their prestigious law school degrees teaching them to get away with it.
Lastly, a famous example of a con man is Oskar Schindler. There's a multitude of Jews who thank God for his expertise in that field, proving that the mere fact that a person is a con artist isn't enough to legitimately condemn him. (Although I can see why, in this case, the other attorneys are miffed. They can't match the faux lawyer's record.)Bud A., Mattflat362 and Chinatown Thank this. -

Doctors formed one of the first guilds in America. Lawyers followed soon after. The American Bar Association and the American Medical Association are two of the most corrupt organizations you will ever encounter. The purpose of guilds is to limit entry into the profession, control those who are allowed to practice, and reduce competition and innovation.
I was a paralegal for ten years starting in the late 80s. I worked with dozens of attorneys and observed probably a hundred more working on cases. There are many, many stupid, venal, incompetent, lazy, and corrupt lawyers. I would say that the majority fall into at least one of those categories. It takes less than both hands to count the really good ones I knew.
They will go hard after this guy, I'm sure. Lawyers hate being exposed, which is why they "police themselves" through disciplinary committees. If you want to waste some time proving to yourself that what I've said is accurate, read the adjudications of the disciplinary proceedings from your state. Here's some fun reading from Colorado for a sample.

It really underscores the importance of ensuring the credentials of legal representatives. Reminds me of a time when I needed legal advice and stumbled upon a fantastic resource at SEC Whistleblower Attorney - Federal Lawyer. They guided me through a tough situation with their expertise and professionalism. Always important to do your due diligence, especially in legal matters.
