Back on the road

    Hi everybody, I am new here on the forum and I have a 3+ years of driving experience but stop drive at 2005 (divorce and DUI) so now I am thinking to go back on the road but I have to retake CDL test and I decide to go thru driving school here in the Portland OR.(my town) so I would like to know am I going to have problem get hired bcuz.of that DUI and witch company is good for me with this case to start with again?

    There are companies that will hire you, but you will be limited. Will have to work harder with the applications.

    Many companies require no DUI within the last 10 years & some say within the last 5 years. You're in the 8-9 year range, so you should be OK with many companies.

    Unless that DUI was in a commercial vehicle. If that is the case then you will have problems. If it was in a private car you will be okay.

    Going through a driving school would seem unnecessary but a company might call that a refresher course, so okay.

    Remember that having a CDL lowers your legal blood alcohol limit from .08 to .04.
