They call it diet weed. It's derived from Hemp. Unlike regular pot ( aka Delta 9), the effects are far less intense. Hence the nickname "Diet weed" or "Weed Lite".

    Case you want more info
What Is Delta 8? - Source WebMD. Also tons of other places to find the info.

    Here are a few..
What Exactly Is Delta-8? Why You’re Hearing About It | Healthline
    What Is Delta-8?
    What is delta-8?

It is. It's also called Spice or was. Far as I know it's now illegal everywhere due to the health/mental issues it was causing. The stuff was scary strong. It's in the same class as Bath Salts. Let me say it simply...Stay away from that Spice ####. It will cause damage to you long term. Even the guy who first made it is against it being sold/used.

Delta 8 is synthetic, but not like the prior stuff. Far as I know there have been no issues with Delta 8, like with K2, Spice, etc. Google Spice/K2 and you'll get more info on it.

Here on my sandbar, you can get delta 8 products, and CBD(which is from the MJ plant, and doesn't get you high), but Spice/K2 has been banned since 2012 if I recall. Same for all of NC, and most states from my understanding.

That was bath salts. ;) Florida will be holding the championship for craziness for a long time.

For those who didn't want to read all the above..
TL:DR - Spice/K2 is very bad for you. Delta 8 is diet weed. Delta 9 is the pot we all know. CBD doesn't get you high, but has the good health benefits of the delta 9. Either way stay away from all if your looking to get a CDL.

    Good luck op!

Ya know, folks seem to go about things all wrong. Why take this crazy a ss stuff that causes problems, when you can make a tea from catnip. Catnip has the opposite effect on humans that it does a cat, and pretty sure you can pass a piss test….

Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol is a psychoactive cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant. It is an isomer of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the compound commonly known as THC.

There are some synthetic forms of this. Most are used in anti-nausea drugs given chemotherapy patients.

The body will treat it just like it was from the natural source and process as the same. THC is cumulative and not water soluble, so it stays in your system for a long time. Drug testing is looking for the metabolites of the processing of the THC.

Some one who is a daily or heavy user can take as much as a year to clear detectable metabolites. Typically 3 to 4 months for moderate to light users is normal.

That is horrible, 4 months sober and still above 50ng cutoff levels, which means, it's still actively being deposited into my hair as well. So, however many more days I need to be fully clean + 90 more days to have 1.5 inches of clean hair. That stuff is a curse, never touching it again

Here is something people may not understand, CBD can be extracted from any of the cannabis family/species. It is not exclusively hemp. The problems with the current industry are somewhat numerous. Standards are questionable at best. Some groups are working on policy for the industry before the FDA or other government agencies step in.

The federal laws/regulations/rules on this are pretty clear. It is a zero tolerance for any cannabis related substance. This includes any and all derivatives. CBD is a derivative.

The synthetic or designer products are built to mimic the molecular structure of THC. The goal is to have them bind to the cannabinoid receptors in the brain, like the natural product. The body’s system see this as close enough and treats as such. This is why even synthetic compounds work. It will also process them the same way, creating the metabolites to show as positive in a UA or hair test.

Currently hair testing is not an accepted DOT test. There are still some problems with these testing methods. They are getting better and may well be approved by DOT in the future.

If you had/have a prescription for any of the products approved by the FDA, then you would not have a specific problem. Unless your undergoing chemotherapy, it’s not likely you would have one.

There have been reports of people using CBD products on a daily basis, that after as little as 4 or 5 months have failed a UA for cannabis. Others have claimed to never have failed. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. It all has to do with usage patterns.

THC in all forms is cumulative and not water soluble. It collects in fat and tissue. This is also part of why it takes larger quantities to have effect over time. Your body builds a tolerance level. This is also why it take time for the system to clear it. It stores and releases slowly over time. Some people do have minor withdrawal symptoms, about like cutting off caffeine. Otherwise little to no effects are noticeable.

Depending on usage patterns and quantities of any type of cannabinoid related product, even synthetic, can take a long time to clear to a non detected level. Half life is somewhere in the range of 12 to 16 weeks, this is dependent on the individual. This is why it could be a year or more in some cases, to drop below detectable levels.

your right, it’s really not good to get tangled up with. This industry is under a microscope most of the time. The long term cost is just not worth it.

Actually you've shown that you are serious about getting into trucking by taking an independent drug test which is always a good move, this saves you the embarrassment of being told by future companies that you do not qualify, in fact don't know why anyone would even bother going through the company drug tests knowing full well they've been using. Unless their not aware of how far back the results will show, which is one reason why companies are now resorting to hair follicle testing, it can go back up to 6 months with some drugs. So stay the course if your serious about driving get the drugs out of your system and then apply for driving job. If you've got the ability to drive for long periods of time, day after day then OTR will be a place in the future that you can call home. All the best future CDL driver.
