I drive for western express and told them I’d like to turn in my truck because they don’t have enough consistent freight volume in my home region to get me home on time. I live in Oregon, Western express runs mostly eastern and Midwest freight. Not only that but the recruiter lied out his ### about absolutely everything from pay to home time to equipment and more. I was straight up told they’d put me in a Peterbilt 579. Western express only runs Freightliners and Internationals. Not a deal breaker by anymeans but, seriously? Why lie about that? It’s pathetic
My previous employer (May) told me they’d be happy to have me back and I was muchhappier driving for them even though the pay sucks
Currently Western Express is deliberatelyrunning me everywhere but their home terminal and doing everything they can to keep me from turning in my truck. I’ve managed to keep my cool so far and haven’t done anything drastic yet but I’m getting more and more pissed by the day. I don’t want to do anything that’ll #### up my DAC so I’m asking if anyone here has any insight into the possible consequences of deadheading my truck to the terminal without company permission. Any advice would be appreciated.
Bad company won’t let me quit. Advice?

Your first mistake was telling the carrier while out you were quitting. Since you did that, I suggest you give them a date and stick to it. Once empty deadhead if you have to, then turn in the tractor at the nearest terminal. Don't worry about DAC. Just don't quit under load and make sure you get the truck inspected when you turn it in.

Won't let you quit? Just drive to the next terminal and turn the truck in. Tell them where the keys are, grab your stuff and split. They don't own you.

So.
As I see it, you have two (2) choices.
Choice #1.
Get unloaded, tell them you are either going to the terminal to quit, or they can come get that truck and trailer.
They’ll route you to a terminal.
Choice #2.

Don’t accept any loads unless they take you to the terminal. Don’t fall for any of that can’t find any loads BS there’s always a load the problem is finding one that makes money. It’ll be in their interest to just get a load that pays for the fuel to go back than to have a wrecker pick up an abandoned truck and racking up storage fees.
