I had 2k pulled from me at 125 a week. I do tankers. I bought my pump and air compressor from them that was 6600- I took my 2k sign on bonus and put it against the pump. 68 a week for that. I'm done with that. They hold 200 a week plus tolls and ifta on me now plus a 100 for the 2019 plate.

The waiting a few days for pay, doesn't sound to shady. They are small, but holding 5k is a lot. Your going to work 3 weeks until you see real money?

At a bigger level. They keep 20%? They don't have enough money to cover payroll, are they taking all the money out of the business, every single week?

I thought part of owning a truck was to have enough money to buy plates for it.
Sounds like your made for this company.

Not true, base plate is only controlled by the authority if you let them.

You don't have to have your own authority, or IFTA to get a plate. IFTA is seperate . Just show them who you are leased to. Or your own authority. Lots of folks lease on with their own plate, and use the companies IFTA. Most plates through the company cost more. Company i am leased to charges 50 bucks a week. So over 2500 for a 1700 to 1900 plate, depends what state it is. I know it an Ohio plate. Some states may be 2000 for a plate, don't know. I prefer my own plate, and my own IFTA. PA plate 1760 or close to that.

Last I checked all you need is a DOT number to get a plate. There are companies that haul their own product. You don't need authority to haul your own product.

I guess the $5,000 deposit is legal if you agreed to it in your lease.

I've never heard of it being a state mandated payment.

It sounds like you and the company are running on fumes.

Buy your own plate, then it stays with the truck.

    Good luck
