NO disrespect but why are you even asking if you don't like the answers?

To tell you what is correct may go against the people in your safety department.

At the point the truck went into the shop, you started your reset. YOU WENT off duty because ONCE you left the truck in the care of those in the shop, you are no longer responsible for the load, the truck or anything else, you are releived of duty hence off duty. They are the legally responsible for all of it, not you. You 34 hour reset started at the time that happened, and if you are logging sleeper, you are in violation because you are not in the sleeper, nor are you under load. This isn't just a logging issue but a legal issue.

You can look it up yourself on the FMCSA web site, or you can have some guidance here from people who know.

Call log complaince first thing in the morning to fix it. You are exposing your company to $11,000 dollar log falsification fines by logging sleeper when you are not in the sleeper.

seems it is funny to ask a truck driver how to log then decide truck drivers dont know
so being a non knowledgeable driver who does 34's under loads all the time
    you should be off duty
your next reset can start from the time you started being off duty now
not 168 hours after you start driving again as many assume
with the truck in the shop you should be signed off your Qualcomm also
in case the shop drives it around

Our Qualcom elogs had a drop down menu for the notation which included the option "Hotel" when you were off duty.

The weird part is he trusted the other forum members judgement to ask if he should take a restart, but not that he logged his sleeper berth incorrectly.

it doesnt matter that they took the truck back right away and once it was back in the shop, they wouldnt let me in the truck due to "insurance" concerns but whatever.

I'd reject the reset, if I knew I was headed home and would take one there,

We use the Rand McNally elogs. When we qualify for a 34 it'll ask if we want to accept it or reject it. I always accept it because....why not? Also, even when I sleep in the truck I log off duty. Who cares really? Sleeper or off duty grants you the same result. This thread is cracking me up. Some of you need a hobby!

So if you had forgotten your wallet or bag of clothes they wouldn't have let you in the back with an escort to go get it? Whatever............
