But my cabs made out of aluminum so not to worried.Rideandrepair and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
I’ve seen a few setups on Docks down south. Where a window unit is mounted in a shed on the dock. All window units have Whats essentially a built in drip pan. They simple run a hose to a drain. Pvc fitting installed in the drain hole on bottom of unit. You can run 2, one at each corner. Or just 1, plugging the other. Tilt unit a bit accordingly. An extra drip pan could be made, to set the whole unit in, but I doubt its needed. Can easily add one later, If you have drainage problems. Tug Toys side box set up is ideal. So simple. A vented side door, and a small fan blowing across the coils, might make usable while Driving, with the side box closed. I’d like that, for when my Trucks A/C goes out. Till I can get it fixed.

@Tug Toy check it out! And thanks for the idea. So much better than that F'n window bracket. For a drain, I had an aluminum turbo dump with 3/8 NPT. I siliconed and screwed it to the unit, and screwed in a male air fitting.

Swamp coolers work via water evaporation. The more dry the air is, the better they work.
There are lots of them out there, but honestly none of them are anywhere near as good as a compressed gas a/c unit of the same size.
Do you not have an APU because you can't put one on your truck, or do you not want one?Another Canadian driver, Jacoooooooo and ky waldo Thank this. -
Im putting a 5k btu unit in my bunk door. Gonna use a 2x4 frame to hold it in and foam board insulation to seal up the rest.
Edit: I mean that I'll open the bunk door, set the ac sitting out of it and put the foam board around it, when Im parked.Another Canadian driver and Farmerbob1 Thank this.
